Did you know that in the first few years after the Empire State Building had opened, the owners of that building hired someone to turn on the lights on the higher floors at night, to give the impression that they had tenants on those floors? In those years nobody dared to rent something so high of the ground and the building’s owners hoped that by switching on the lights, people would think others were already living and working there.
